Mike & Katie's Wedding - July 29, 2006
  by: Katie

Reuben Michael Daniel Harris (whew...you can just call him Mike) is the youngest of 3 kids. Mike was born and raised in Orange County, California (don't you dare call it the OC in front of him!) on January 31, 1980. Mike was very popular growing up....in fact he was even Prom King and Prom Prince in high school. He enjoyed playing football and volleyball until he injured his knee, and kissed his college football aspirations goodbye :( . During his senior year, the high school cheer squad invited him to join, and Mike bravely said, "Sure, why not?"

Mike graduated from Pacifica High School in May of 1998. After graduating, Mike decided to follow in the footsteps of both of his older siblings and move to San Diego where he attended San Diego State University. While at SDSU, Mike joined Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity (without which he would not have met me!) and joined the SDSU Cheer Squad. After a torturous SIX years, Mike graduated in 2004 with a degree in Mathematics (Single Subject Teaching). He is currently in the teaching credential program and has his first teaching position at Kearny High School. He loves his job and feels honored to be able to have such a positive impact on our youth.

    Why I Love Mike
This may sound cliche, but Mike and I complete each other. He is caring and honest, and he is always there to listen and give advice. I can't wait to get home and tell him about my day, even if "nothing happened." Mike is confident and fun, and he always makes me laugh. He gives me the freedom and trust to be myself, and he knows when to step in and offer his help. Mike is always willing to try that new exotic restaurant or join me on our latest travel adventure. It doesn't matter whether we are travelling the world or vegging on the couch with a movie; we are always able to have so much fun together. I know that when I squeeze Mike's hand he will always be there to squeeze back. Mike is my best friend, and I feel so lucky to be able to spend the rest of my life with him.
